You go home with a lamp you made.
An afternoon, a table buried in yarn, and a plain white lampshade. Wind the colours on however you like and leave with a lamp that works — one that nobody else owns.

How an afternoon goes
Nobody arrives knowing how to do this. That is rather the point — the technique takes five minutes to learn and the next three hours to enjoy.

Start with nothing
A plain shade, a base, and more colours than you need. Pulling the palette is the first real decision you make.

Wind it on
One strand at a time, clipped and tensioned. Wide bands, hairline stripes, whatever the shade is asking for.

Take it home lit
Your lamp is wired and working before you leave. It goes straight onto a shelf, not into a drawer.

Wrapped lamps
Wind yarn around a plain shade until it turns into something you want to keep.

Bring your own people
Most sessions are booked by a group who already know each other — a birthday, a team day, a weekend at the lake. The workshop travels, so it can happen wherever you are already gathering.
Plan a private sessionBirthdays and celebrations
A table of friends, a pile of yarn, and everyone leaves with something they made rather than something they bought.
Team days
Quiet, tactile, and nothing like a trust fall. People talk to each other properly while their hands are busy.
Retreats and getaways
An afternoon session that fits inside a longer weekend. Travels well to cabins, lodges, and rented houses.
Clubs and guilds
Standing groups who already meet and want a project with a finished object at the end of it.
